GLIMPSES OF THE SCHOOL HISTORY

St. Antony's Higher Secondary School, founded in 1917, is a co-educational institution, managed by St. Stanislaus
Forane Church, MaIa. The School commenced its educational activities at lower Primary level. The
foundation stone was laid by Sir. Joseph Boore, Diwan of Kochi. It was managed by Government of Kochi from 1917 to 1927.


The church management took over the administration of the school in 1927. Rev. Fr. Antony Pullokaran was the
first manager and Sri. Balakrishna Menon became the first Head Master.
The school was raised to the status of High School in1938, Sri. Shanmugam Chetty KCIE, Diwan of Kochi,
inaugurated the High School section. Soon it became the glittering star among the educational institutions across
Kochi State.


The School crossed a milestone when it became the first higher secondary school in the Corporate
Educational Agency, Diocese of Irinjalakuda. Rev. Fr. Antony Manjaly & Rev. Fr. Paul C. Ambooken, former
managers were behind the realization of the dream. Rt.Rev. Dr. James Pazhayattil, Bishop of Irinjalakuda
inaugurated the Higher Secondary Course in the presence of Sri.K. Karunakaran, former Chief Minister,
Sri. P.J. Joseph, Minister for Education and Corporate Manager Rev. Fr. Jose Manjaly. Sri. M.C. Antony became
the first Principal of the School.

Sri. K.T. Pappachan, Sri. P.K. Bharathan, Smt. P.L. Elsy, Smt. Recty K.D, Smt. Moly M.T, Smt. Lilly V.A. headed the
institution in the following years. Sri. K.A Varghese is our present Principal. The school has been scoring above 98% results over the years and 100% results in 2011 - 2012 academic year. In 2012- 2013 Ani John and in 2014-
2015 AIdreena Mariya and in 2015-2016 Angeliya C.U. and in 2018-19 Delna Davis scored 1200/1200 in the Higher Secondary examination.
